Jurassic World Sequel Announced With Date
Jurassic World is now officially the third highest-grossing movie in cinema history.
But we all knew a sequel is inevitable. Today, Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment have officially announced a sequel is in the works and will be aiming for a 22 June 2018.
Both Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard have also been confirmed to reprise their roles. Frank Marshall and Steven Spielberg will once again produce, but no director has been named yet.
So it looks like Colin Trevorrow will not be directing, instead he will be on writing duties and will also executive produce the film with Spielberg.
Looking at the date as well, if the rumours are to be believed and that Trevorrow may be directing the second Star Wars Anthology movie - which is supposed to be out on the same year as the Jurassic World sequel - perhaps that's why Trevorrow has to pass the helm to another director.
But I'm guessing it was already agreed to change the director for a sequel in the first place. Let's see who it will be.
