While We're Young (7/10)

Now this is what Ben Stiller should be doing more from here on out. Enough of his usual rom-com shtick. Enough of the Night At The Museums. This is how Stiller should evolve.

While We're Young, written and directed by Noah Baumbach of Frances Ha and The Squid And The Whale fame; tells a story that is both humorous and with drama. And fiercely realistic. Watching the story unfold you could just imagine or recall that the situations could so easily, or already have, happened in your life.

Stiller and Naomi Watts had great chemistry playing the lead couple while Adam Driver and Amanda Seyfried were equally charming as the co-starring couple.

Especially Driver, who has also worked with Baumbach in Frances Ha, is perfect for the role. Towards the end in the big reveal, he played his part to perfection creating a slight sense of betrayal and anger in the audience.

And Stiller wearing that hat created an identity and an icon to his character, as if he saw himself as someone else. It was very significant in its creation by Baumbach.

Quite enjoyable and funny, I would recommend this little indie film to everyone who likes a good storytelling.
