James Wan Set To Produce Mortal Kombat

If the last Mortal Kombat movie gave us just one thing to remember it by, it was the soundtrack. That's the only thing I remember, because the movie wasn't that great. Plus back then, I was more of a fan of Street Fighter.

Today, Tracking Board revealed that James Wan has been hired by New Line Cinema and Broken Road to produce a reboot the franchise and hopefully, give it a better result that would spun more films in the near future.

The first time Mortal Kombat hit the silver screen was back in 1995 with Paul. W.S. Anderson directing. This time, no director has been named yet (though I would be more excited for this movie if it was Wan directing, of course); but the script has been penned by the web series "Mortal Kombat: Legacy" writer Oren Uziel and also Dave Callaham who wrote for The Expendables.

No word yet on a release date.
