Now this is a very surprising turn for director Adam McKay. You can't tell it's him on the director's chair from this trailer. Maybe it's the way it is cut, or maybe it's a different McKay.
The talent in this movie is unmistakable. Brad Pitt, Steve Carell, Christian Bale and Ryan Gosling. And then there's Marisa Tomei, Melissa Leo, Karen Gillan and Max Greenfield.
This movie looks like a juicy drama-slash-comedy with another brilliant character-acting by Carell, following up from his Oscar nomination this year. And everyone else looks like they are bringing their best game too, Bale as the nerd, Gosling almost unrecognisable with that hairpiece and Pitt with the straight face and fringes.
And McKay's comedic timing is also sprinkled throughout the trailer. I really enjoyed this trailer and the chuckles it gave me. I can totally see now why Marvel was considering him for Ant-Man before ultimately giving it to Peyton Reed.
Based on the acclaim book by Michael Lewis - who also wrote Moneyball and The Blind Side, this movie will be out on 23 December 2015, meaning it is going up against and will be counter-programming for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
