Tatiana Maslany To Join Jake Gyllenhaal In Stronger
Other than the Casey Affleck-project, Boston Strong, Lionsgate is also producing another movie about the Boston Marathon bombing tragedy of 2013.
This one will star Jake Gyllenhaal and is titled simply Stronger.
The Hollywood Reporter has also recently reported that Tatiana Maslany is in final negotiations to star opposite Gyllenhaal.
This version of the movie will focus on the point-of-view of Jeff Bauman, with source material taken from his memoir, as he waits for his girlfriend to cross the finishing line when two pressure cooker bombs exploded, resulting in Bauman losing both his legs. Bauman later became a key witness in the manhunt for the bomber.
Maslany has recently become a hot commodity after her fine work in the TV series "Orphan Black", where she plays multiple characters with some having very convincing accents. She is also currently being considered by Disney and Lucasfilm to join the Star Wars universe.
Stronger will be directed by David Gordon Green, director of Pineapple Express, Joe, and the upcoming Our Brand Is Crisis. No release date announced as of now.
