Another history is made in the Mission: Impossible franchise. First was that Christopher McQuarrie will be back to not only write but also direct the next installment of Mission: Impossible, becoming the first director to return to the franchise, back-to-back no less.
Yesterday, Showbiz411 has confirmed that lead actress Rebecca Ferguson will return for the sixth installment - making her the first female lead to do so in the history of the franchise.
This will also mark the franchise's first sequel that is a direct continuation of the previous movie.
Filming is set to begin August next year for a possible 2017 release - which will also make it the first sequel in the franchise to be released so soon after the previous.
