Self/less - Review (4/10)
At least the trailer sold me on exactly what I was getting with the actual movie. It's just that the movie wasn't very good.
Actually, most of the plot points have already been revealed in the trailers. Worse was, the small twists that came in the third act were unoriginal and yawn-inducing. Though there were nothing wrong with the acting from Ryan Reynolds and Ben Kingsley, the screenplay by David Pastor and Alex Pastor was just sub-par and barely kept me interested. And Tarsem Singh still hasn't impress with his direction.
Matthew Goode, though, still has a career in playing a villain. I didn't mind his performance here. But the character development of Reynold's with Natalie Martinez's wasn't properly fleshed out and when they teamed up, that was the dip in the movie for me.
The way the ending of the movie played out was probably the only redeeming factor. But the overall movie was just flat throughout.
