Ryan Reynold's Deadpool Sets Biggest R-Rated Record
It's not common to have an R-rated superhero movie, let alone coming from Marvel Studios. But not only did it open to the biggest Thursday night numbers for the U.S. market for the month of February, Deadpool also opened to the biggest R-rated movie opening of all-time.
20th Century Fox is set to enjoy a big weekend this week, with some pundits even saying it may cross the USD 100 million mark. That's quite a feat to achieve but maybe it can. I'm predicting it to be in the early 90 millions myself.
Deadpool has set a record of USD 12.7 million on opening night. The previous record was held by The Hangover Part II with USD 10.4 million in the same weekend in 2011.
The movie cost about USD 58 million and definitely will recoup over the next few days.
