According to The Hollywood Reporter, MGM and Warner Bros. Pictures have signed Alicia Vikander to play the iconic role of Lara Croft in the reboot of Tomb Raider.
The movie, now with the title Tomb Raider - not sure if it would change, will be directed by Roar Uthaug; which will be his first big-budget Hollywood movie.
With this move, Vikander - last year's Academy Award winner - will now have her own franchise. Already seen a few of her movies, I'm impressed with what she can do and have no doubt that she will make a good Lara Croft.
No word yet on a release date for the movie.
