The Jungle Book officially opens in the U.S. this week but Walt Disney Pictures is already looking ahead for the movie's sequel.
With strong and positive reviews all around, Disney is confident of its projection and have already begun negotiations with director Jon Favreau and writer Justin Marks to create its sequel, this according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Not sure if Favreau will return to direct as he is now back in great favours with Disney and may want to direct something bigger, like a Marvel movie or a Star Wars project.
But Disney's direction is the right one. They have already setup this universe and its technology in creating this world, and the story is ripe for a continuation of the adventure with Mowgli and friends.
