Maze Runner: The Death Cure Delayed Until Dylan O'Brien Recovers

Lead star of the Maze Runner series, Dylan O'Brien, last month suffered a serious injury during filming. Although he's on his way to a full recovery, it has now been confirmed that he would need more than the initial six weeks.

Therefore, 20th Century Fox today has announced that the 17 February 2017 release date for the third movie, The Death Cure, has been delayed indefinitely until such time O'Brien is fit to resume filming.

A new date will be announced once the recovery period is more certain.

The series is one of the better ones in the young adult genre after The Hunger Games, but still nowhere near the success of the latter. Which is why I doubt there will be a lot of people heartbroken over the delay. But here's wishing O'Brien a speedy recovery nonetheless.
