Blumhouse Productions has released a video clip to announce the continuation of the Insidious franchise, which you can view here if the video attached below isn't working properly.
Co-creator Leigh Whannel and actress Lin Shaye are both featured in this short clip, as we see Shaye as her onscreen character Elise Rainier revealing a new director joining the franchise, Adam Robitel.
The clip itself is meant to be sinister looking, and a lot of that comes from the background music. Personally I thought the last chapter should have been the last as it was really losing its steam, much like another Whannel and James Wan-created series, Saw. Which went on for another four more installments finishing on the eight, but at that point it was just going through the motions.
But then under Blumhouse, all these horror flicks are made for cheap and will recuperate the costs within the first opening weekend. So from a business standpoint, why not?
The new movie will arrive on 20 October 2017.
