Director Robert Rodriguez has been handed the manga-origin project, Alita: Battle Angel from James Cameron, who initially wanted to direct it himself until he extended the Avatar projects.
And according to Collider, Rodriguez may have found his lead actress to play the lead character in Rosa Salazar. Salazar's movie credits include the recent Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials.
Salazar reportedly beat out Disney star Zendaya and Maika Monroe for the coveted role.
Rodriguez hasn't done anything note-worthy of late, let's hope that this project will bring out what used to make him so great as a director for these genre movies.
