Zhang Ziyi has disappeared from Hollywood ever since 2005's Memoirs Of A Geisha, which I really liked and was impressed by her performance. That's why I am perplexed as to why she has no follow-up to that in Hollywood.
But according to The Hollywood Reporter today, Zhang has been cast as part of an international team of astronauts in J.J. Abrams-produced God Particle.
She joins David Oyelowo, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Daniel Bruhl, Elizabeth Debicki, as well as Chris O'Dowd who is also in final negotiations.
The story of God Particle is said to revolve around an American space station where an accident with a particle accelerator that made Earth vanish.
The movie will be directed by Julius Onah and will be out on 24 February 2017.
