Cate Blanchett To Join Ocean's Eleven Remake

The remake of a female-centric Ocean's Eleven seems to be picking up steam lately with new A-listers in talks to join the cast which already has Sandra Bullock confirmed.

And it also seems like this version will also follow the footsteps of the movies that has come before, whether it's the 1960 original with the Ratpack, or the Steven Soderbergh trilogy that began in 2001; the movie is going after big names that are Oscar-calibre.

Jennifer Lawrence has shown interest to sign on last month to reunite with The Hunger Games director Gary Ross who will be helming this remake. And today, according to The Playlist, Cate Blanchett is also in talks to join the cast.

The report also states that the working title for the movie right now is Ocean's Ocho, meaning there will only be eight thieves instead of eleven. And Blanchett would be playing Brad Pitt's role opposite Bullock's George Clooney.

Filming may commence before end of the year with maybe a late 2017 or early 2018 release.
