Instead, it will debut on TV and will continue on as a series.
The movies have continuously fall in sales as each new movie comes out so it makes sense that the studio would want to pull this from the cinemas as they would have to spend a lot on marketing which they may not see a return.
But now my question is, are there enough fans that would want a TV series? Or are the producers saving face by announcing a spin-off now? Unless the series will start the following week after the movie debuts.
There are still speculations whether the stars from the movie will continue on in the series, but I can't imagine Shailene Woodley nor Theo James would want to stay on something that's a sinking ship.
