Daisy Ridley To Star In Chaos Walking Trilogy

The "Young Adult" genre, which usually means teenage novel adaptations has not had a great track record if you remove Harry Potter and The Hunger Games out of the equation. Even the final movie for The Divergent Series has been relegated to a straight-to-TV movie.

Still, Hollywood continues to look for new titles in searching for their next Katniss Everdeen for the silver screen. And perhaps with an up-and-coming A-lister, their chances for success may be better.

Lionsgate is adapting a trilogy of novels titled by Patrick Ness, titled Chaos Walking. And according to Variety, Daisy Ridley has signed on to play the lead character.

Jamie Linden, who wrote for this year's Money Monster, will provide the screenplay and the movie will be directed by Doug Liman, who will no doubt be able to add more of an adult tone.

The movie is scheduled to go into production next year but no word on a release date as of yet.
