According to ComingSoon, Tom Cruise and Doug Liman's next collaboration (after the surprise hit Edge Of Tomorrow), which was previously titled Mena, is undergoing some changes.
No explanation was given on the news site but the new title is now American Made (perhaps a better title after all than the dubious and vague Mena). That's not all, the movie's release date has also been pushed, from again a questionable 6 January 2017 to a far more promising date of 29 September 2017.
I don't think this is because the movie is turning out to be award-season material but it does show more confidence from Universal Pictures that this could be a big hit... though one has to wonder, why was there doubt before that led to a January release date.
