The teaser for Mister Sinister to appear in the X-Universe was first hinted at the end credits of X-Men: Apocalypse. The speculation naturally went to Wolverine 3 as the movie when the villainous character will appear as it's the next X-Movie to hit the silver screen.
Today, Cinemablend has reported that Simon Kinberg and Bryan Singer have confirmed that it Mister Sinister will indeed be in Wolverine 3, though no further information was given as to who will play the character or whether he will be the only villain in the movie.
Wolverine 3 brings Hugh Jackman back for the very last time playing the character. Patrick Stewart will co-star, and possibly introduce the character X-23 as the one receiving the torch from Jackman. The movie will be out on 3 March 2017.
