[Review] The Kings Of Summer (6.5/10)

There's always a special charm about these coming-of-age movies. But movies like these need to be realistic, and one of the biggest thing that stood out was the timeline of building that little house in the middle of the woods.

First of all, the cast was great, the direction by Jordan Vogt-Robertson was very competent, and for the most part, the pacing was very enjoyable. Unfortunately, it always comes down to a girl that becomes the subject matter, and in this case, the main reason for the third act.

My biggest issue that just didn't make sense at all was the timeline of building said house. Nothing about that whole scene made sense as these kids didn't have any carpentry skills and yet in such a short period of time they could build what they built.

This wasn't one of those movies with bigger or more attractive or sexy stars in the cast, but also as a story it wasn't the most engaging; but still entertaining enough to sit through.
