Screen Gems and Lakeshore Entertainment has released their first trailer to the upcoming Underworld: Blood Wars.
In another attempt to make some more money out of this franchise, the studios are putting Kate Beckinsale back in black spandex. Beckinsale did not blow up like what Hollywood predicted. She's beautiful and talented but her movies just doesn't sell and the Underworld franchise is probably the only one that she can lead.
This first trailer for Blood Wars looks like it will be a lot of fun. The action sequences all look good, but those weren't the main problems of all the other sequels that came before. The story and the direction need to be good for this one to reinvigorate the franchise.
Also starring Theo James and Charles Dance, the movie is directed by cinematographer Anna Foerster, who has also directed some TV work. Let's see if she can make that transition for the silver screen.
The movie will be out on 6 January 2017. Good news for it would be that there will be very little competition on that week.
