Before all these video game adapted movies, there was one that enjoyed quite the success and that was Mortal Kombat back in 1995.
James Wan has been touted to bringing the title back onto the silver screen but only as a producer. Today, Variety has confirmed that Wan has found his director for the project, by the name of Simon McQuoid.
Although this will be McQuoid's first full-length feature, he is also known for directing commercials for game titles and for PlayStation. This obviously is nothing to boast about but The Russo Brothers have proven that there is no director too small for a big budget movie.
No release date has been set.
