Rami Malek To Play Freddie Mercury In Bohemian Rhapsody
Actor Rami Malek recently found fame starring as the lead in TV series "Mr. Robot". He's about to get an even bigger break as Deadline reported that he has just landed the Freddie Mercury role in the biopic movie named after Mercury and Queen's biggest hit song, Bohemian Rhapsody.
The project is under 20th Century Fox, New Regency and GK Films; which has been developing this for years.
But now it seems to be finally taking off because the report also stated that Bryan Singer is eyeing to direct it.
Singer's schedule doesn't look like he has any free time in the coming years as he is in charge of Fox's X-Men titles as well as a new tentpole franchise 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. But if he does direct, he will be returning to something that is much smaller in scale and more character driven, which is also exciting if you think about his earlier movies like The Usual Suspects.
No release date has been announced yet.
