The Raid was one of Indonesia's best action-thriller to date, with a third sequel already in the works as the second movie also cemented it as a successful franchise.
Hollywood is now remaking the movie; or as Joe Carnahan, the director who is responsible for the remake, puts it, a reimagining - whatever that means.
Carnahan already has his lead in Frank Grillo, who was last seen in The Purge franchise as well as in the last two movies of Captain America. He definitely is a good choice for this material as, after watching him in The Raid sequels, I thought he makes a very believable action star.
This piece of news came from XYZFilms Twitter account that put out a video of both Carnahan and Grillo watching The Raid and discussing what they were going to do with it.
