Nicole Kidman Joins James Wan's Aquaman, and Black Manta Casting

I know Marvel Studios has been around much longer so it's very easy to say that they have done it first, rather unfairly as a comparison.

But to Warner Bros. Pictures and DC's credit, Aquaman has James Wan directing and it could be the script that is appealing, and they are able to grab the attention of thespian and Oscar nominee Nicole Kidman to star in their superhero movie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kidman is in negotiations with DC to star in the movie as the character Atlanna. To be fair, the role is probably not a big one, a la Anthony Hopkins in Thor. And, from what I hear, it's usually fun to be in these superhero movies.

In related news, another of Aquaman's enemy Black Manta apparently will be in the first movie as well as Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has also been in negotiations to star as the character.

Aquaman is scheduled to be out on 5 October 2018.
