Usually the poster of a movie will be released before the trailer, or they get dropped at the same time. For smaller, indie type of movies; sometimes the trailer will get released first and followed by the poster. Such is the case of Open Road Films' The Promise.
The story centers around the Armenian Genocide and the final days of the Ottoman Empire, and stars Oscar Isaac, Christian Bale and Charlotte Le Bon. From the looks of things, I just hope Bale is not just a one-dimensional bad boyfriend for Isaac to steal Le Bon from.
The poster could have been something uninspiring but this actually works very well with the painted look.
Directed by Terry George, The Promise will be out on 21 April 2017.
