New Line Cinema has cut a great teaser trailer that captures the essence of the movie while showing how freaky things will get. So far in this trailer, the suspense has been atmospheric and does not completely rely on jump scares; which hopefully reflects the quality of the movie as well.
The only thing I am not a fan of this trailer has been the overly loud background music with overly soft voices for dialogue. Are they making up for the lack of jump scares? A lack of jump scares is a good thing.
The first poster released also looks eerily fantastic. And it looks very dark, darker than the trailer so far.
IT is directed by Andres Muschietti and will be out on 8 September 2017.
