Joss Whedon To Direct DC's Batgirl Solo Movie
From Avengers to Batgirl, director Joss Whedon is a geek through and through.
Variety is reporting that Whedon is close to signing a deal with Warner Bros. Pictures where he would write, direct and produce a standalone Batgirl that sits inside the DC Extended Universe.
This could be the best news that WB has released thus far amidst all the mess for their future movies. And with them courting talents like Mel Gibson, Matt Reeves and Whedon, it seems like they are moving into their plan B and plan B is shaping up nicely.
We can definitely scrap all the line-up they have up until 2020 with Cyborg and Green Lantern solo movies. That in fact is the right move for them now.
And with Whedon onboard, WB will not be able to bully him, and he is the best person to write for a strong female character.
No release date has been set but I am sure that will change soon.
