[Review] Sleepless (3.5/10)

On the onset, you could tell what the producers wanted to do with Sleepless - which looked like a fast paced, action thriller.

And they got a bunch of great talents to star in, like Jamie Foxx, Michelle Monaghan and Scoot McNairy giving fantastic performances. There was also a great supporting cast in David Harbour, Gabrielle Union and Dermot Mulroney.

But the characters themselves were very cliched and horribly written. There was no layers to them and they were almost like caricatures, especially the dialogues which some lines were unimaginative and dull.

The direction, however, looked competent from Baran bo Obar; which Sleepless is his first Hollywood movie. This was not a great representation but hopefully he will get another shot.

But the characters themselves belonged to the 90's and should not be in today's movie world. And they tried to setup a sequel at the end of the movie, which should be an impossibility now.
