Joss Whedon Takes Over Justice League From Zack Snyder

It has been reported today by The Hollywood Reporter that Zack Snyder has stepped away from Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Films' Justice League movie that is scheduled to release later this year.

Snyder has opened up about a certain family tragedy that happened earlier this year, that he has kept private all this time.

While the movie has finished filming, there is still a lot of post work to be done. However, Snyder feels that he is no longer able to focus on work and need to be with his grieving family for now.

Enter the recently announced director for Batgirl, Joss Whedon. He will be taking over the duties now; and seems like the perfect choice, seeing as how he was the director that shepherded Marvel's Avengers onto the silver screen.

I do not believe, however, that Whedon will be as involved as he was with The Avengers movies as he was burnt out after Age Of Ultron. This world of DC will be just as heavy for any director that chooses to take up the mantle. I am definitely more interested in seeing Whedon's version of a Batgirl solo movie.

It is also nice to know that WB actually offered to push the release date so that Snyder can come back later to finish it, be it post-production or reshoots.

But Snyder declined as he feels that is not the best move for the movie, which is why he has officially stepped away and let Whedon do the rest.

Justice League will still come out on 10 November 2017. My thoughts go out to the Snyder family during this difficult time.
