As promised, the teaser trailer has been released during the NBA Finals, still happening right now as of this posting between Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors. (My team Boston Celtics has been knocked out by the Cavs in the Conference Finals.)
But this teaser though, released by Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures, gave such an insight on the world of Wakanda that we will be visiting. And it is something that is so culturally different that we have not seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before. It looks beautiful!
It's good to see Martin Freeman returning to the MCU as well, and what a great scene it must be in the actual movie with Freeman and Andy Serkis as seen in the opening and setup of this trailer.
Slowly we get to see the rest of the cast, including Michael B. Jordan with some futuristic hairstyle, Lupita Nyong'o in action and Angela Bassett in a hairdo, Forest Whitaker in thick makeup, Danial Kaluuya who looks like Jordan's henchman or sidekick, Danai Gurira from "The Walking Dead" series but bald this time (and is she the one wielding a stick again?); and finally some car chase sequence reminiscent of Captain America: Civil War with Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther.
There's also, once again like Thor: Ragnarok, a kick-ass song playing in the background.
Directed by Ryan Coogler, the movie will be out on 16 February 2017. Expect the full-length trailer to be out in next month's San Diego Comic Con.
