[Review] Despicable Me 3 (5.5/10)
This third movie from the Despicable Me franchise definitely looks a little tired now. There was just not a lot of laughs to be had.
It also tried to recreate that emotional factor the first one did so successfully, but this time with a twin brother; and it did not hit the mark at all. And the new mother stepping in for the kids felt even more tired than everything else.
There was still a bit of fun to be had with the two brothers, Gru and Dru. Their dynamics and the voice acting provided by Steve Carrell definitely was something to be enjoyed, especially that dinner table stunt.
Also the villain this time, Balthazar Bratt voiced by Trey Parker, was very likable with all his 80's antics.
But other than these, everything from the story to the laughs to the emotional pull, all stayed just on the surface.
