Ben Affleck To Team Up With Casey Affleck For Red Platoon

The Tracking Board today announced that Ben Affleck is in negotiations to go back behind the camera once again to direct Red Platoon for Sony Pictures. His brother, this year's winner for Best Actor at the Oscars - Casey Affleck, is in negotiations to star.

Red Platoon is based on the memoir by Clinton Romesha on the battle of Kamdesh which took place during the war of Afghanistan back in 2009.

What is interesting to note is that Affleck should be busy preparing for Matt Reeves' The Batman solo movie. So does this give weight to those rumours that say Affleck will not be donning the black cape anymore after Justice League?

Of course, with proper planning, both movies can happen. Just that, this could very well be the reason that Affleck drops out.

Another interesting thing to note is that Red Platoon is under Sony, while Affleck's last three directorial movies were all under Warner Bros. Pictures. His relationship with WB may have just turned real sour real fast after the failure of his last movie, Live By Night; as well as him losing the director's chair and script for The Batman solo movie.
