J.J. Abrams has done it again! He has done it with The Force Awakens and now he is pushing back the release date of Star Wars Episode IX, which Lucasfilm has previously announced as 24 May 2019.
Today the studios has made the official announcement that the release date will now be back to the month of December, 20 December 2019 to be exact.
I for one am happy for this news because to me, this new Star Wars is so ingrained in my mind as a Christmas release. They have had plenty of success with The Force Awakens and Rogue One. So it makes perfect sense to me to go back to December.
