This has to be some kind of a record because after Kevin Spacey's indecency reports came out, Ridley Scott decided immediately to replace the actor with his original choice - Christopher Plummer; reshot every scene with Spacey in it in just a matter of weeks, and then still keeping the initial release date intact.
A new first trailer has been released this week, with a lot of quick-cuts to make it seem action-packed. Now if you remember watching that first trailer with Spacey, it played slower and focused more on the story as well as the thriller side of it. And I actually do prefer that trailer to this one.
And also, unfortunately for Spacey, he definitely was receiving a lot of Oscar buzz for his role as Getty. He disappeared completely into that role and was unrecognizable behind all the prosthetic makeup.
Still, this could be another nomination for Michelle Williams, maybe Christopher Plummer, and even Mark Wahlberg.
Directed by Ridley, the movie will be out on 22 December 2017.
