Any mediocre-looking trailer will be given the benefit of the doubt if it has A24 attached to the beginning of it. This is what this trailer looks like. Considering how The Witch ended up being really good, this looks to be going for the same kind of style, which is the slow burn type that finishes strong.
Hawke looks great in this trailer, as he is always committed to every role. But also not forgetting that Schrader is a highly-acclaimed writer as well. So this combination, and the fact that the movie will be released in the summer, leaves me optimistic.
The poster, however, doesn't say much about the movie.
