If the negotiations are successful, Marvel would have done it again - snagging up another one of Hollywood's best, Jake Gyllenhaal.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gyllenhaal is in talks to play Mysterio - another one of the villainous Sinister Six which was attempted to be introduced back in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and to be fleshed out in the next sequel that never happened.
Not that there is ever any doubt after Avengers: Infinity War, but this again is a confirmation that Spider-Man lives.
All writers and director are also back for the sequel.
