[Review] Fist Fight (4.5/10)

Had I watched this in the cinema, I probably would have kicked myself. But Fist Fight in the comfort of your own home and on TV, it became tolerable.

Charlie Day and Ice Cube were good in this. Each played their role perfectly; and especially for Day, you could feel for the character because most of us are more of Day than Cube in real life.

Richie Keen's direction was mostly on point when it came to the comedic scenes, but then there were certain characters felt very out of place - especially with Christina Hendricks who was under utilized.

Tracy Morgan and Dean Norris had adequate roles for some of the comedy, but Kumail Nanjiani did not have enough to do. And is this where Dennis Haysbert's career has taken him - a useless role that could only best count as a cameo in a useless comedy?

The one that fared better was Jillian Bell who had some of the best lines in the entire movie and constantly stole the spotlight from Day.

But it was Day and Cube's polar opposites that made the chemistry worked. And by "worked' I meant as good as this movie could be from their improvisations onset.

The only part that took me by surprise was when a little girl started cursing, but that was just because she was a little girl.

Other than that, there were some good humour to be found but nothing that really stood out.
