The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the long rumoured standalone Joker movie outside of the current DC extended uinverse is confirmed and will be an origin story.

Joaquin Phoenix is also set to play the title character and the movie has a budget of only USD 55 million, a very similar amount to the first Deadpool movie.

But still, this is a movie nobody is asking for; especially Jared Leto who is also rumoured to have his own Joker movie as a spin-off from Suicide Squad.

Also interesting to note, Martin Scorsese is no longer listed as a producer for the movie with no confirmed reasons.
