[Editorial] Jessica Jones Season 2 Needs To Thank Janet McTeer
Janet McTeer hails from the UK and is not a popular name many would know. But if you have watched Jessica Jones Season 2, hopefully now you would.
Without touching on any spoiler stuff, McTeer gets introduced early in the series as a mysterious character but later becoming the most important role in the series.
As her character started to have a relationship with Jessica, she became more and more important to the overall story as well as the character arc of Jessica in this season. And it is because of her acting that really sold each scene. From being hopeful to be gentle to the need to be violent, the viewers were able to believe in her mental struggle and go along with her journey, and ultimately really believing in her motivations and sympathize with her.
McTeer became the shining star in this season even though her character had this dark side and she was always in the shadows. And without her, this season would have just been the weaker follow-up to the debut. But because of her, it is very close.
I definitely want to and hope to see a third season, what with all the news of cancellation of Iron Fist and Luke Cage. Both seasons of Jessica Jones have been really entertaining and engaging, so hopefully Netflix is able to keep this series going.
But with Disney+ just around the corner, it does not seem hopeful.
