According to Variety, Jordan Peele's upcoming horror-thriller Us has been selected by South By Southwest Film Festival as the opening title. Universal Pictures has then decided to delay the release by one week in the hopes of gaining and building even more buzz right after SXSW.
There has been a recent precedent when A Quiet Place also benefited last year by having its wide release four weeks after SXSW's premiere.
The movie will now open on 22 March 2019.
