They don't make movies like this much anymore. Emotions sometimes were driven by the visuals and cinematography, there were not a lot of dialogue. But by the end of it, there was this quiet, longing and sadness.

And when I say visuals, that includes the powerful performances of both Ben Foster and Elle Fanning. as they use expressions to convey emotions. These two performers always bring their best no matter the size of project. And once again, they moved me not with words but with their performances and their portrayal of how broken these characters were.

One thing lacking, given the tone and pace of this movie, was still the dialogue. At times there were not enough to build the scenes up, and at times there were not as audible through sobs and cries.

And still, this is a type of movie that requires patience to sit through because there were not a lot that happened onscreen from scene to scene. But it was just the build up that led to a very dark turn towards the end that gripped and shook the audience, before the final plunge into the soft and haunting ending.
