[Review] Safety Not Guaranteed (7.5/10)
The movie that gave Colin Trevorrow, as well as his writer Derek Connolly, their big break, Jurassic World. This was one of the more charming movies I have seen in a while.
The casting was perfect. Aubrey Plaza and Mark Duplass never had better performances than this. The side characters played by Jake Johnson and Karan Soni were well written by Connolly, fleshed out enough to not just be useless side characters but have their little own arc as well.
And the story had such a great buildup, though a little bit long; and it all led to that final scene where it really could have gone either way and it would have been just fine.
