One of the most amazing franchises, and of course it comes from Pixar, has the highest rated movies on Rotten Tomatoes. The first two movies currently sit at 100% while the latter two are at 98%. No other franchises come close to this.
All these movies came with amazing sense of adventure, and brilliant writing that really connects to what toys are and / or what they can be. And they are just darn lovable.
1. Toy Story 2 (9.5/ 10 )
There was just something magical about this movie and all its subplot. As a toy collector, it was also very easy to relate. And there was also that neighbour kid who was both scary and annoying. But this third act was the best of the franchise.
2. Toy Story (9/10 )
This was the beginnings of the Woody character. His arc was very clear, and very educational as well, when he learned about who he was, how to be a friend, and how to be a great leader by making everyone around him better.
3. Toy Story 4 (9/10)
This was a beautiful, heartbreaking and tear-jerking ending to Woody's character arc. Again, we were able to watch Woody grow as a character, a stark contrast to who he was back in the first movie. But what was so great about this was to see how Woody love, so unconditionally.
4. Toy Story 3 (8.5/10)
This movie probably introduced to us the best villain of the franchise, who came with the best backstory / origin. Unfortunately, I just thought it took a little too long to get to the ending.
