[Review] Joker (9/10)

Title - Joker
Studio - Warner Bros. Pictures
Starring - Joaquin Phoenix, Zazie Beetz, Robert DeNiro, Shea Wingham, Marc Maron, Frances Conroy
Writer - Todd Phillips, Scott Silver
Director - Todd Phillips
Release - 4 October 2019

This could be the best origin story of a comic book character.

The Good:

- Phoenix gave a performance of a lifetime and it was so difficult to watch his character go through this stage in his life. It was a decent of his humanity; and the fact that the decent started in like level Basement 1, it made watching the more difficult.

- As of today, I am picking Phoenix for Best Actor.

- The best part was the moment he opened the door to an apartment, and it was almost a silhouette; but that was the first time he embodied the true spirit of Joker.

- Not only was this the best origin story for a comic book character, but it was also the most realistic; so much so that it could happen tomorrow and no one would think it's out of this world.

- Phillips surprised me with this direction because the tone was so on-point, and his direction could be considered during the award season.

- Beetz's performance also made an impact in this one.

The Bad:

- Even when Phoenix was so good, I felt the first half was a little too slow.

- Because it was not easy to watch, I don't think I would go back to watching this anytime soon.
