While Barry Jenkins directed the heck out of this, and it came with such a great cast, especially Naomie Harris and Janelle Monae; and while I could tell why the Academy Awards loved this movie, it wasn't the best movie of that year.
I thought the adult Chiron was very disconnected from his previous two younger selves and it took a while to really get onboard with Trevante Rhodes' performance.
But as a whole, it was a good movie, good storytelling and overall great performances all around.
