Hand drawn animated movies are a gem when they have a great story to drive narrative. And Wolfwalkers has both.

It boasted a strong folklore that always keeps things interesting because you are learning something new about another culture. Folklores themselves are always inherently interesting anyway. Whether or not this was based on an actual British folklore wasn't that important; because, watching it, I was completely bought into it.

The first act and the third act was great. But its second act seemed to be suffering a little of that usual dip in pacing and energy. The cementing of the friendship between the two girls took a bit of toll as we were suffered to go through the motion of the usual struggles that sometimes bordered on logical issues.

But like all fairy tales, too, there was a satisfactory ending even though there was nothing exceptional to it. It's a very safe ending, but still warms the heart nonetheless.
