Every performer in this movie were great and memorable in their individual scenes, or scenes they shared with another.
It began with Scoot McNairy and Ben Mendelsohn, just sitting down having a conversation with another. Mendelsohn looked terrible, and you could feel how dirty he was even from the screen.
Every scene with Ray Liotta was great. Whether he was being held up or getting beaten, you could not take your eyes off him.
The star of the movie was actually Brad Pitt. His scenes with Richard Jenkins in the car, or James Gandolfini in a hotel room, or with McNairy at the bar; they were all memorable and these were just conversational scenes.
I can't believe I have never watched this. It's not one with a lot of action, but it's just a very quiet movie with very engaging conversations.
