Writer - John Krasinski
Director - John Krasinski
Release - 28 May 2021
John Krasinski came back with this sequel which actually held up really well when compared to the original, which is in itself a rare feat - horror or no.
This time around, Millicent Simmonds stepped up to have a more prominent role; but unfortunately her acting capabilities were not quite there just yet. A nitpick, I'm sure, because I don't believe she was a detriment to her scenes at all.
Emily Blunt once again was a force of nature, this time being paired with Cillian Murphy who was just as effective.
But the real star here, I believe, was Krasinski; who managed to write and direct a sequel that furthered the lore and expanded this world while maintaining its characters' growth. There was even another staircase scene that directed the same way and still got to me even though it wasn't anything in particular.
