[Review] Wrath Of Man (5.5/10)

Title - Wrath Of Man
Production - Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Miramax
Starring - Jason Statham, Holt McCallany, Josh Hartnett, Jeffrey Donovan, Scott Eastwood, Laz Alonso, Andy Garcia, Niamh Algar
Writer - Guy Ritchie, Ivan Atkinson, Marn Davies
Director - Guy Ritchie
Release - 7 May 2021

This was quite a disappointing Guy Ritchie experience, especially right after The Gentlemen and Aladdin. Wrath Of Man felt like a big step down.

The way the story was cut wasn't for me. It already wasn't anything original to begin with, and to have it played out the way it did just did not make it any more interesting. (The original movie this one was based off of must have been much better.)

Ritchie did try to surprise his audience in his storytelling and there were also moments that were good but they were just not enough. Everything ended up being too linear and also a bit slow.

Scott Eastwood must have a very good agent. He isn't a compelling actor to watch and yet he keeps getting roles. This one, however, really showed his shortcomings. He is better much off playing the good guy or a romantic lead. As someone evil, he failed.

I was also expecting Jason Statham to really kick ass in this movie, but his character never went there because this wasn't that kind of a movie. Still, it was a Statham movie and it's what we can expect from his acting as a bad ass.

There was, however, a brighter spot. Josh Hartnett has not been in a theatrical movie for a while, and out of the whole cast, he had the best acting and the most fun to watch.
